Reasons to visit North Cyprus

No visa requirement for North Cyprus:

The only thing you need when travel to North Cyprus is a valid passport (with at least 6 months validity). Upon entry, you will receive tourist visa and will be able to renew their stay if they wish.

Sandy and Golden beaches

The Beaches of North Cyprus are among the cleanest and safest in the Mediterranean. The golden beaches stretched 2km along the Karpaz Peninsula. along the beach you can walk completely barefoot.

Kyrenia harbour

Kyrenia harbour is one of the most beautiful cities in North Cyprus. Your imagination will take you on a trip in the history thanks to the cobblestoned alleys and old buildings. You can sit at one of the cafes in the harbor and sink into the Mediterranean perspective. Kyrenia’s evenings are full of music and dance. Church of Anglicanism, The cemetery of Ottoman and unique markets of Kyrenia are spectacular.

Kyrenia Castle:

Kyrenia Castle is located in Kyrenia Harbor which dates back to the 16th century. The castle above the great east port makes an extraordinary view of the city.  you can sit in a chair of a cafe and sink into the Mediterranean blue landscape to soothe yourself from the noisy world.

Lala Mustafa

Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque has an attractive Gothic style architecture and is about 7 centuries old, the largest medieval building in Famagusta. This mosque was known as St. Nicholas Cathedral before the Ottoman invasion and was a place for Christian religious ceremonies. In the courtyard of the mosque, there is a fig tree, known as the oldest tree in Cyprus, which is said to have been planted during the construction of the church.


Kantara Castle

Another historical attraction of North Cyprus is “Kantara Castle” that was built in the Byzantine period in 965 in order to protect the Karpaz Peninsula after the Arab invasion. The Castle is located at an altitude of 630 meters at the end of the Kyrenia Mountains and is very easy to access.

St. Hilarion Castle

St. Hilarion Castle  is a historic and beautiful castle built in the 11th century at an altitude of 732 meters in the mountains of Kyrenia where has a spectacular view of the city of Kyrenia and the beautiful Mediterranean coast. It is said in the myths that a saint named Hilarion escaped to this area in the 7th century, and later a church and castle were built in his name. In 1228, this building was used for defense against pirate attacks and this castle played an important role in protecting the island. Some parts of the castle were built years later by the kings who used this beautiful building with a pleasant climate as a summer residence. Interestingly, this castle has been attacked from the Ottomans to the Arabs and was involved in a four-year war with the Roman Empire during the Lusignan.

Alagadi Turtle Beach

One of the most spectacular attractions of North Cyprus is its sea turtles. Every year, a festival is held in Northe Cyprus to support these turtles with the help of volunteers and the municipality of Karpaz, and the time of this festival is when these turtles hatch. Turtles lay eggs in different seasons and bury their eggs under the sand. This process is being monitored by the North Cyprus Center for Ecology and Conservation because these turtles are a rare species and many of their endangered species, including foxes, pose their eggs. If you are one of those people who are interested in marine animals, especially turtles, we suggest you do not miss this opportunity.


Ghost Town

After the division of Cyprus, in 1974, Varosha became a military zone and its inhabitants left their homes. This neighborhood has still remained intact and no one can enter it. Abandoned beach hotels, uninhabited houses and empty shops make you feel like time has stopped in this area. Now, the government of North Cyprus, intends to make Ghost Town in North Cyprus a global tourist destination. In other words tourists should not look at it from behind the barbed wires anymore. In Varosha you can see cars from 40 years ago in the streets.

Bellapais Monastery

Bellapais Abbey is located in the bellapais area in the Kyrenia mountains. The abbey was founded in the late 12th century. The abbey’s name is derived from the French “Abbey de la Paix”, abbey of peace, which became corrupted in Italian to “Bella Paese”, meaning “beautiful countryside”.
Cafes and restaurants are also available around this beautiful monastery. Various festivals are held here every year and many visitors from all over the world travel to North Cyprus to see this place.

Wild donkey on the Karpaz Peninsula

They are one of North Cyprus’s tourism treasures! You will find them in the Karpaz region of the island, grazing in fields by the roadside. The first signs of the presence of these donkeys on the island date back to the 7th century BC. So they were on the island much earlier than we think. In the past, donkeys played an important role in the agriculture of the Karpaz Peninsula. Most families often had one or two donkeys and used them to carry loads from groves and fields to mills. In the 1970s, machines replaced donkeys. Subsequently, all the donkeys were collected from all over the island and moved to the wider area where Karpaz National Park is protected..

Scuba diving

The clear and Cristal waters surrounding North Cyprus is the best opportunity for diving. the coastline has been unspoilt for century and offers over 200 miles of coastline as well as one of the longest diving season in Mediterranean.
the diving season is from April up to December. water temperature in November is about 20°C. there are only 7 dive center around the cyprus


North Cyprus is often called the Turkish Vegas. Casinos are almost everywhere; mostly fancy luxurious hotel-casinos which host a large number of guests from all over the world.
